Pain in the neck

Literally.

I woke up Saturday with a terribly painful stiff neck.  I’m guessing it’s a pinched nerve, but at 3am when I awoke and couldn’t move, it was pretty darn scarry.  I finally rolled into a comfortable position and fell back asleep (after pondering calling my mom, my dad, my brother, and/or 911 because I was in so much pain). It look about 5 minutes to roll out of bed Saturday (have you ever had a pinched nerve in your neck?  Any pressure HURTS like the dickens and sitting up definitely puts pressure on your head). I spent the day with a mixture of remedies: icy hot patch, bio freeze, advil, advil, advil, my dad’s tens unit (which doesn’t feel so great on one’s NECK), and the heating blanket.  The latter was my favorite.  I managed to get out of the house for a few hours (to see a movie). Just took a neck pillow along and was fine.

It’s now Sunday morning and I’m feeling much better–not as constricted but still really sore.  I can’t hold my own head up yet.  It’ll just take time.  I was going to go to the doctor to get x-rayed but I think I’ll be fine.  Sunday school won’t be too bad–there are ways I can teach comfortably.  Church, on the other hand, is a different story–I probably won’t risk it and just come home.

Lovely lovely lovely.  I’ve definitely “slowed down” a lot this weekend–I know that’s a good thing.

It’s been a GORGEOUS weekend here!!

Oh, and those images that I was going to share “tomorrow” (yesterday), they’ll be posted today! I couldn’t exactly look down at anything on my lap so I didn’t touch the computer yesterday.
